Gentle, holistic psychiatry for women and teens-with a special focus on autistic girls and the families who love them
Mahogany Jays Wellness offers compassionate psychiatric care for women and teens navigating anxiety, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. I have a special focus on autistic girls and families managing late diagnosis and school-related stress.
Autistic girls- especially Black girls- are often overlooked or diagnosed later than their peers. This practice was built with that awareness in mind.
Currently accepting Aetna insurance and private pay.
For Girls Who are Trying So Hard
Some girls look “fine” at school but fall apart at home.
They are bright, sensitive, thoughtful — and exhausted from trying to keep it together.
I provide affirming psychiatric care for autistic girls and teens who may be masking, overwhelmed, or misunderstood.
I also support parents navigating late diagnosis, school stress, and advocacy fatigue.
For Mothers Who See What Others Don’t
You’ve been told she’s “too sensitive.”
Or “just anxious.”
Or that she needs to try harder.
But you see the exhaustion.
The shutdown after school.
The meltdowns that don’t make sense to anyone else.
You’re not overreacting.
And you’re not imagining it.
Many autistic girls — especially Black girls — are missed or diagnosed late because they learn to mask, perform, and push through. That masking comes at a cost.
I support parents navigating:
Late diagnosis
School stress and IEP advocacy
Anxiety that shows up as perfectionism or moral distress
Burnout from constant self-regulation
The emotional weight of “should have known sooner”
You deserve support too.
I provide thoughtful, collaborative psychiatric care for teens and women navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and neurodivergence.
My approach focuses on understanding the whole person — not just symptoms. Many of the girls I work with are bright, insightful, and deeply sensitive. They often work hard to meet expectations while quietly carrying anxiety, pressure, or exhaustion.
Together, we focus on helping your daughter feel safer in her own mind and body while giving parents the guidance and support they need along the way.
Care may include:
• Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Thoughtful medication management when appropriate
• Support for anxiety, mood changes, and emotional regulation
• Understanding masking and burnout in autistic girls
• Parent guidance and collaborative problem solving
• Navigating school stress and academic pressure
Care is provided through secure telehealth appointments across Florida.
