Meet Your Provider
Denitra Bost, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with more than two decades of nursing experience.
Her background includes caring for individuals across the lifespan and supporting patients through complex emotional and mental health challenges.
Her work is deeply informed by both professional experience and personal understanding of the challenges families face when navigating neurodivergence, particularly for girls whose needs are often overlooked or misunderstood.
Her work integrates psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, and supportive guidance that considers each person’s unique life context.
Care That Sees the Whole Person
Mental health care should feel thoughtful, respectful, and centered on the whole person. Many women and teens carry invisible pressures — trying to hold everything together while navigating anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or the challenges that come with neurodivergence.
At Mahogany Jays Wellness, care is rooted in understanding the full picture of your life, not just a list of symptoms.
Mental health care works best when people feel heard and understood.
Appointments are a space to slow down and look at the full picture of your life — emotional health, daily stressors, nervous system patterns, relationships, and the pressures that often go unseen.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, care centers on understanding how your mind and body are responding to the demands around you.
Medication, when appropriate, is used thoughtfully and always in collaboration with you. The goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help you feel more steady, supported, and able to move through daily life with greater ease.
Care at Mahogany Jays Wellness is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique experience.
A special focus of this practice is supporting autistic girls and the families who love them. Many girls go years without recognition of their needs because they learn to mask their struggles or appear “high functioning” on the surface.
Parents often carry the emotional weight of advocating within school systems, navigating late diagnosis, and trying to understand what their child truly needs to thrive.
You deserve support in that journey as well.
My Focus
The Story Behind Our Name
The name Mahogany Jays reflects both strength and nurture.
It was inspired by the resilience of the mahogany tree and the blue jay’s message of clarity, protection, and renewal.
The mosaic nest in our logo represents wholeness. Just like a nest is built piece by piece, every part of your story matters — your struggles, your strengths, and the experiences that have shaped you.
At Mahogany Jays Wellness, we believe healing and growth happen when every part of your journey is seen and supported.
Especially the parts that others may have misunderstood or overlooked.
